Most consumers these days expect you to have a social media presence for your business, so it is important to create new social media platforms and post regularly for your business. Your business will benefit from social media through increased visibility, traffic for your website and ultimately more customers or clients coming through your door. We educate many people who have little to no knowledge in social media and review the best options for their strategies.
The first step is signing up for a free initial 30 minute consultation where we will assess your business goals and learn about your brand. We will ask you questions about what you have already done on social media and what you are currently struggling with in terms of your strategy. We start giving feedback and suggestions right away and come up with a plan that will suit your particular needs. There are two major tracks we can take – social media management or training. Depending on your goals, we will discuss exactly how we can assist you.
I am on a limited budget for social media. Do you have a wide range of choices in how you work with people?
Yes, we do! We work with both solo-preneurs as well as larger businesses to help them become more successful in social media. Our in person and online classes provide an affordable way for you to learn social media skills on your own. If you have the budget for it, we have a range of valuable social media management packages and consulting options to choose from.
Many businesses mistakenly believe that they have to be on every single social media platform out there. This is actually not true and can hurt your social media strategy in the long run. It is better to first get clear on your target audience and then choose the social media platforms that they are hanging out on. We discuss this in the first module of our online program Create a Compelling Brand on Social Media.
It depends on what industry you are in and how much time you can realistically devote to social media. If you are just starting out, it is best to stay conservative with your posting schedule and try to do once or twice per week. If you have the ability to do more, you can do it everyday or daily. When you have a consultation with us, we can discuss what posting strategies would be best for your particular business.
At On Time Social, we encourage our clients to follow the 80-20 rule. About 80 percent of the time, you should be posting content that is informative, educational and entertaining. This could include blog posts, beautiful graphics, curated articles and how to tips. The rest of the time you can do promotional content that links back to your website or has specific calls to actions to sign up for a course or book an appointment.
I am a private person and don’t want to post on social media. It makes me feel uncomfortable. How do I get around this for my business?
You should always feel comfortable about what you post on social media. Just because one of your friends or competitors posts a lot of personal information on social media doesn’t mean that you also have to follow their lead. You can share content that is valuable to your audience and minimize posts that will draw attention to yourself like selfies or personal information such as what hobbies you participate in. That being said, it is sometimes good to reveal a little more about yourself on social media in order to build the trust with your audience.
Many people believe that a return of investment on social media always means that you increase the profit for your business. That can be true, however, there are other returns that you also get from having a strong social media presence. Namely, it helps you increase your, brand awareness, visibility and credibility. These are three qualities that are hard to measure with the social media analytics. Yes, you can measure how many likes or follows you have, but oftentimes people will hear about you from social media and purchase your product without making the direct connection. Overall, your ROI from social media is much more involved than just how many dollars you are bringing in. It is about establishing your brand online.
It depends. Some of our clients are less involved because they trust us with getting the messaging for their brands exactly right and they allow us to post on their behalf without pre-approval. Other clients want to be actively involved in the process, sharing tips and photos that we can use on social media and giving us feedback on the captions. When we begin our working relationship with you, we like to keep the lines of communication open and prefer to have you pre-approve the content ahead of time. That way, as we get to know your business, we know for sure that we are doing a good job representing you and your company.
Boosting posts is one way to advertise on Facebook and many business owners find this method very easy to do on their own. However, they may not be getting results because they are not understanding the whole concept of advertising on Facebook. Typically when you advertise on Facebook, it is best to do a freebie opt-in where people give their email address in exchange for useful or valuable content from you. It takes about 5-7 touches with an individual before they decide to purchase from you. Therefore, if you do one small boost on Facebook for a post, you may not get any leads from it. What is better is to have a strategy with your overall sales funnel. We can help you with that!
