People post all different types of content on social media and it can feel a little overwhelming when deciding what type of content you should post on your social media accounts. The most important thing when posting social media content is to share content that your audience enjoys and are most likely to interact with.
While all businesses are different, I’ve found that there are some content types that perform well across any industry. Let’s get into a few of my favorites.
People love to see the behind-the-scenes of businesses. Some examples of behind-the-scenes content are a quick tour of your venue, sneak peeks at new products or interviews with employees. Customers really enjoy getting to know you and your business and it’s a great way for you to build their trust and show your transparency.
Throwback Thursday or #TBT posts are very popular on social media. This is a chance to share older content from your business. It’s also a great way to show your audience how far your business has come. You can post content from when you first started your business and include blog posts, pictures, etc.
Your audience follows you on social media because they’re interested in the services or products you provide. Those services and products fill some sort of need in their life, which is why they want to follow you. Share quick tips with them and educate them on your business and what type of services you provide. This is a great way to build trust with your audience because they’re able to see that you’re an expert in your field.
Motivational posts tend to get really great engagement for all industries. People tend to engage more when they see content that’s uplifting and they’re more likely to share it with their friends and followers. A popular way to share a motivational post is to create a graphic with the quote written on top. Social media posts with graphics tend to receive more engagement from people already, so when mixed with a motivational quote, you’ll see great results. Video & Live Stream
Videos have become a very popular type of content to share on social media. Videos tend to get a higher reach than images and text content. Most platforms have made it incredibly easy to share videos and live stream on social media accounts. You can share pre-recorded videos or live videos. Live streams on Facebook and Instagram are a great way to connect with your audience in real-time. For example, Facebook Live and Instagram stories allow your followers to comment on the live video. You can see the comments as they appear and engage with your audience while live streaming.
