If you’re not advertising on Facebook, you’re missing out. Consider this: the social media titan has close to 1.5 billion monthly active users, that’s about a fifth of the entire world’s population! Not only is it the largest potential audience, it’s also one of the most cost-effective methods to promote your business. Facebook is an incredible platform for businesses of all sizes to stretch their marketing dollars.
I wanted to tell you about a recent Facebook Ad campaign that I did for a client where we were able to generate 317 leads in three days at $1.64 per lead. Wow! Needless to say, I was very happy with the results. Here are a few reasons we were successful. Apply these tips to your own Facebook Ads strategies:
Define Your Goals.
It’s an obvious question, yet an important one regardless: What is your goal? Facebook offers 11 options across 3 key objectives, but there are almost an infinite number of ways to utilize the platform. Your approach will depend on what exactly you want to achieve. Are you selling a product? Are you trying to capture leads? Do you simply want to create awareness for your company? Establishing a set of goals will help you create a solid foundation for your ad campaign.
Keep It Simple.
At first we put a lot of text onto the landing page and then decided to edit it down. Sometimes it’s good to keep it simple and not get too cluttered. Make sure you are still talking about the benefits of whatever offer you have and use bullet points to keep it clean and organized. Always stay on brand and keep your voice consistent with the rest of your marketing channels.
Test It Out.
In last week’s email, I emphasized the importance of testing. I cannot tell you how important this is! Start with testing out your audiences and seeing which ones are bringing you leads for the least amount of money. Each audience should have their own ad set with specific targeting and budgets so you know who those ads are hitting and how much you are spending. After that, you can also test out different photos and the copy.
Keep Your Eyes on Your Ads.
I watched how well the ads were doing as soon as we launched and I made an executive decision to narrow the audience and focus just on women ages 35-65+. This helped optimize the ad even more. I recommend that you download the Facebook Ads Manager App on your phone to easily monitor the progress of your ads. Also remember to keep an eye out for any comments on your ads.
Success doesn’t happen overnight. Even with a big advertising budget, it can take time to build influence and see progress with your efforts. If at first you aren’t seeing great results, keep at it. Try new variations of ads and audiences until you find one that works for your business.
